Session 1-Musical Theatre (Ages 8-12)

Service Description

Join Thank You Five! for a summer of fun, imagination and creation! Students will: -Build self-confidence and a sense of belonging. -Strengthen listening and communication skills by collaborating with others. -Receive individualized actor coaching in order to improve their craft as young performance artists. -Discover skills to produce and perform an age appropriate production through hands on, experiential learning. What will students be exploring this session? A selection of songs and scenes from famous Broadway musical including: For Good (from the Broadway Musical WICKED) Give My Regards To Broadway (from LITTLE JOHNNY JONES) I Whistle A Happy Tune (from THE KING AND I) Seasons Of Love (from RENT) Seventy Six Trombones (from Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN) We Go Together (from GREASE) You Can't Stop The Beat (from HAIRSPRAY) What to Bring: Water bottle, clothes/shoes appropriate for movement, lunch, and snacks. *Session will take place at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church, 201 4th St SE, Washington, DC 20003. **Pricing includes scripts and production materials required to produce a play.
